Pre-Flight Breakfast: What’s Served Before Your Balloon Ride

After your hotel pick-up and the short drive to the launch site, you are greeted with a light open-air breakfast. It is not a full Turkish breakfast—that would take two hours. Think of it as fuel to keep you comfortable during the flight.

What Is Typically Served

  • Hot drinks: Turkish tea (cay) and instant coffee. Some operators serve filter coffee.
  • Pastries: Simit (sesame bread rings), pogaca (savoury pastries), or biscuits.
  • Fruit: Seasonal fresh fruit—watermelon in summer, apples and oranges in winter.
  • Juice: Orange or mixed fruit juice, sometimes from a dispenser.
  • Water: Bottled water is always available and free.

When and Where

Breakfast is served at the meeting point or launch field, usually between 5:00 and 5:30 AM in summer, 6:30–7:00 AM in winter. You eat while watching the balloons being inflated around you—the flames lighting up the dark field. It is a memorable start to the morning. See what to expect for the full timeline.

Special Dietary Needs

The standard breakfast is mostly suitable for vegetarians. For vegan, gluten-free, or allergy-specific requirements, let us know at booking time and we will prepare accordingly. Read our vegan & special diet guide for details.

Should I Eat Before the Flight?

Eat lightly. A full stomach combined with early-morning cold and the gentle motion of the basket can cause mild discomfort for sensitive stomachs. The pre-flight breakfast is sized just right. Save the big Turkish breakfast for after you land—your hotel will have it waiting.

Is Breakfast Included in the Price?

Yes. All our flights include pre-flight breakfast, the flight itself, post-landing champagne celebration, flight certificate, and hotel transfer. See the full what’s included list.
